Pick up your weapons boys, we’re going to war!
Altough all of us have our own battles of faith to fight (“Fight the good fight of faith” 1 Tim. 6:12), I believe there is also a spiritual battle that each of us engage in as Sons of the Most High.
Eph. 6:12 “For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
We wrestle and we battle with these forces of darkness, also known as the kingdom of darkness, just as the men of Israel did battle against the neighboring tribes over 2000 years ago. The only difference is, our battle is not a physical one any more (flesh and blood), but a spiritual battle against the demons and host of wickedness.
But there is good news! These demons and spiritual hosts including the grand daddy of them all, the devil himself, have already been defeated!
When Jesus Christ went to the cross 2000 years ago, He stripped the devil of His power. The Bible says that He triumphed over them at the cross!
1 Cor. 2:8 “which none of the rulers of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory:”
Col. 2:15 “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it [the cross].“
Our Lord Jesus Christ literally stripped the devil and all His dominion when He went to the cross and gave up His own life, shedding His blood! The devil had no idea the victory that was truly going to come from what seemed to be a major blow against God’s plans. But Jesus rose again, showing the victory and power that He has over death and the devil as the blessed Son of God.
These principalities and powers represent the devil and all his dominion, all his little goons we could call them. But the great thing is we don’t have to fear and we already have authority over all of the kingdom of darkness through the mighty Name of Jesus Christ and the power of His shed blood! To the victor goes the spoils, and as a Child of God that means you! God bless.

It’s not flesh and blood we fight against but thing unseen.
