Psalm 107:20 says that the Lord sent forth His Word (that is Jesus) and healed them. Jesus is the Word made flesh (John 1:14), He is the One whom God has sent forth to heal us of our sins and infirmities. Let’s look at the rest of the verse, it says:
Psalm 107:20 JPS “He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves.“
Jesus, the Word of God made flesh, not only delivered us from our sins and healed us (“By His stripes we are healed” 1 Pet. 2:24), but He has delivered us also from the grave!
John 5:24 NASB “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”
Revelation 1:18 NASB “And the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades“
When we believe on the Son of Man, we pass from death to life. The judgment and condemnation that came upon the first Adam and spread to all mankind (Romans 5:14) is lifted and destroyed when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. Sin has no more power where Jesus reigns and rules in our lives, and He has the power to destroy sin and to conquer the grave for us.
Revelation 1:5 NASB “From Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood“.
