The Blessed God (1 Tim. 1:11)

Scripture says that God is the “Blessed God” (1 Tim. 1:11). What exactly does this mean? To be blessed means to be filled. It means not to be lacking. So in essence, God is filled. He lacks nothing. He is the richest man in the world, the whole universe for that matter. So why does this matter to us?

Because God is blessed, He seeks to bless others. When one is blessed, they will naturally in turn bless others. Think of a really rich man with lots and lots of money, more money than he needs. So what does he do with the money? He gives it to others, right?
If you have ever heard of a grant, a lot of times this is what it is. Somebody with a lot of money, who wants to give it to someone else, and thus the grant was born.

So who does this affect us? Well, think of it like this. If you have accepted Jesus Christ and are now a Son of God, your Father is the richest man in the world! So do you lack anything? Of course not! Why? Because the Father loves the child and meets all of his or her needs. This is why the Bible says that “my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus”(Phil. 4:19). What does it say? My God shall supply all your needs. All is a lot, all is the whole thing! So what do you lack? Absolutely nothing. And it is all according to His glorious riches which He has given us in Christ Jesus. Remember, He is blessed and lacks nothing. He blessed Solomon and King David with an abundance because He himself has an abundance. He has the glorious riches. And how has He chosen to give them to us? Through His Son Christ Jesus. Make sense? Hallelujah! Praise the Lord! God bless.
