The Power of the Holy Spirit in Prayer (Rom. 8:26-27)

The Holy Spirit helps us through prayer when we are in need. It is very important to learn to “pray by the Spirit”, because this will be a very effective and very powerful prayer that will have tremendous results and bear much fruit. Also, the prayer by the Holy Spirit will be a faith filled prayer, you will know that you are speaking directly to God and you will know that He is listening to your great prayer of righteousness.

The Bible says that the prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16). Because there is no one righteous (that is on their own) (Romans 3:10), righteousness comes by the Spirit of God indwelling a believer.

The Bible also says that the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us because we know not what we ought to pray for (Rom. 8:26). Get that! We don’t even know what we are supposed to be praying about! But it is the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit that helps us out and leads us to pray for whatever we should or need prayer for! This is the power of prayer and the ministry of intercession that the Holy Spirit makes for us. (Romans 8:27)

Elijah was a man filled with the Holy Spirit and faith in His God and when he prayed, the very heavens were shut up or opened. This is the power of the Holy Spirit in our daily prayer life. Trust the Holy Spirit to make effective and powerful prayer through you and give everything to God, including your daily prayer life and you will see tremendous results and improvement! God bless!
