John 1:1-2 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.”
Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. He is the exact representation of the Bible and He is everything the Bible speaks of.
John 5:39-40 “You search the Scriptures, because you think you will find eternal life in them. The Scriptures tell about me, but you refuse to come to me for eternal life.”
This Word, this Eternal Word came down from the heavens, spoken by God Himself and dwelt among us. This Word which is Jesus performed miracles and healed the sick. He caused the lame to walk and the blind to see. Virtue and healing flowed from within Him, and all who came to Him were healed.
Psalm 107:20 “He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.”
Jesus was the Word that God sent forth to heal the people. Jesus is our healer. He is everything the Old Testament spoke of. He is the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Col. 2:9). He represents everything that God is. He is the image of the Glory of God. The Shekinah glory that came down and rested on the Tabernacle in the wilderness. He is the grace and the love of God manifested. Everything that the Bible speaks of, everything that God is, we see and is manifested in Christ. When we look to Christ and the Cross we see the love of God, the forgiveness of God, the compassion and fellowship of God.
We see everything that God is in Jesus Christ. He is the new covenant that God has made with His people. He is the purpose of God from the beginning. Everything we need is in Jesus, and He is ever here to save us from our troubles. He is the Word made flesh that has dwelt among us! Amen.
The Word made flesh is good. Our God lowered Himself to His creation’s level to live among us. Is that an awesome God or what?
