Christ our Righteousness

Romans 10:4 "For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believes."

What shall we say but that Jesus Christ is our righteousness. He who knew no sin was made to be sin, that we might be the righteousness of Him (2 Cor. 5:21), praise to His glory.

That which we could never do, Christ has done for us. He has mended our hearts, He has set us free (Luke 4:18). For the Spirit of the Lord was upon Him, and now is upon us (Eph. 1:13). We are set free by this Spirit (2 Cor. 3:17). For the Spirit does give liberty to the glorious Sons of God (Rom. 8:21). This is a freedom that all creation looks for. It is only found in Christ, our Righteousness.

For truly He has set free those who were once enslaved. By His blood we are set free (Rev. 1:5). We are loosed from that which has once held us. Sin is no more, and the only thing that remains, is Christ our Righteousness.

How do we partake of these Divine blessing? We merely believe God.

Genesis 22:17 "Indeed I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed as the stars of the heavens and as the sand which is on the seashore; and your seed shall possess the gate of their enemies."

What did Abraham do except believe God?

Romans 4:3 "Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness."

What else can we do but believe God?

Romans 4:16 "For this reason it is by faith, in order that it may be in accordance with grace, so that the promise will be guaranteed to all the descendants, not only to those who are of the Law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all"

Is there anything we must do? No. Is there anything Abraham had to do? No. He just believed.

Romans 4:24 "To whom it will be credited, as those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead"

Who shall be glorified? God shall be glorified for what He has done for us, done for us in His Son.

John 10:17, Jesus says "I lay down My life"

For who does He lay down His life? For you and for me.

1 John 3:16 "He laid down his life for us"

What a powerful Saviour we serve. Full of grace and compassion. Nothing could have stopped Him from going to the cross.

Just as He laid down His own life for us, thus should we lay down ours for our brethren.

1 John 3:16 "Because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren."

Can I lay down my life apart from Him? No. It will only be selfish gain. I must first know Him who is true love. Him is Life. Then I shall know what it means to truly live. Then I shall be able to do what He has done.

John 14:12 "And greater works than these shall you do"

How? We need only to believe. Believe in Him. Believe in the One who is the All and All. Our Righteousness. Our Love. Our Lord. Our God.

For He is our strength in times of weakness. He is our refuge and our salvation. He is our hope and our blessing. He shall not let us down, but He shall carry us, through this life and into the next.

Matthew 11:29: "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls."

Allow Him to carry you. He is our strength and our comfort. He shall not do you wrong. God Bless!
