Much can be said about the great man of God, King David. He was a king, a poet, a musician, a warrior. But most of all, He was a man after God.
1 Samuel 13:14 "The LORD has sought out for Himself a man after His own heart, and the LORD has appointed him as ruler over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded you."
This man was King David.
This does not mean that King David was perfect.
1 Kings 15:4 "He walked in all the sins of his father which he had committed before him; and his heart was not wholly devoted to the LORD his God, like the heart of his father David."
But David had a heart for God. He sought God and learned to lean on Him. He led the nation of Israel for forty years as king and he was God's man.
2 Chronicles 6:7 "Now it was in the heart of my father David to build a house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel."
David desired to build a house for God out of His love for Him. He was a great warrior who had learned to trust God.
Psalm 56:11 "In God I have put my trust"
In fact He wrote many of the Psalms which still speak to us this very day!
King David was truly a man of God, one that is well remembered even to this day for the relationship that he had with his Lord. David truly was a man after God's own heart. God Bless!
