Family is such a wonderful thing and so very precious in the eyes of our God. The great thing about family is they are to move together. They are to work together. They are to stick together under any circumstances. There is nothing that should be able to pull a true family apart.

When we are born again of the Spirit (John 3:3), we are blessed with a wonderful spiritual family, our great family of God!

Hebrews 2:11 "For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He [Jesus] is not ashamed to call them brethren"

The family is a representation of our relationship with God our Father and with His Children. This is why we call one another brethren. God places so much emphasis on families that He wouldn't even let Moses proceed forth with His mission until Moses had dealt with his own family! (Exodus 4:24-26)

What is also great is that even those who don't have a family or those who have come from broken homes are not without hope in this life! Your spiritual family, the Family of God is powerful and eternal! As Christians (believers in Christ) we are all part of the great Family of God.

The Family of God is to be a family of love. A family which we can look to at all times for help, for comfort, for encouragement, for support. The family is to move as one and stick together. And of course God is the Father.

Colossians 3:14 "Above all, be loving. This ties everything together perfectly."

It's interesting to note that the devil always seeks to break apart families. Look at the great number of divorce rates and the decline in the family home in the last couple of decades. Why? Because the devil knows how important and powerful the family is! He is always seeking to destroy what is good and of God. Notice how one of the first sins recorded in the Bible was the murder of Abel by his very own brother Cain!

Genesis 4:9 "Then the LORD said to Cain, "Where is Abel your brother?" And he said, "I do not know. Am I my brother's keeper?"

This true answer to this should be: Yes, we are to be our brother's keeper! We are to look out for one another. As Jesus Christ said, we are to do unto others as we would have done unto ourselves (Luke 6:31). That is the great Golden Rule. Our love for God and the love of God in us should radiate and extend to our brethren at all times.

Family is so important and as the family of God we need to be able to stick together and hold peace with one another. The world should see a perfect example of the family and perfect love being upheld. Not squandering and fighting, but a perfect love for one another. We are to be an example and a witness of Christ to the world.

So let us love our brethren always with our deepest love and remember the love that God has for us at all times. For He is the glue that keeps us together, He is the bond that strengthens us, and in Him we shall remain strong and grow as the blessed Family of God. Amen. God Bless!
