We as Children of God are able to rest assured knowing that the Lord is in control. Although the Devil may be the god of this world (2 Cor. 4:4) and may seem to have the upper hand at times, rest assured that God will never be defeated and is always in control.

One thing I believe is that the Devil is more talk than he really is. It says that in the end we shall look upon him and narrowly consider him as the one who was able to deceive the whole world (Isaiah 14:6). Like a cat who has been shaved, I believe we shall see him for who he truly is, not that big!

Smith Wigglesworth used to say that the Devil was kind of like God's whip, His rod of chastisement to bring one to repentance and deeper faith in the One who is true life and joy. We must see God as Sovereign, as He truly is.

Look at the Book of Job where the Devil must come before God to ask permission to proceed.

Job 1:6 "Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan also came among them."

We must understand that the Devil is still subject to the Creator. He is still the created one, and God is still the one in control. God holds the cards! The Devil is the created one, and is still subject to the Lord. I believe one of the lies of the Devil is to convince the world that he is more powerful and holds more cards than he truly does. This is just not the case! God is always sovereign and He always will be. There is no great battle for first place. God has first place and He always will be first place. He is only allowing the Devil to continue until the appointed time when He shall be done away with and everything made new again!

Rest assured brethren, our Lord and God is in full control, and Jesus holds the reigns of life. As we submit to Him we shall know this blessed victory that has already been won for us in Him through our Lord Jesus Christ! We shall let Him have full reign! God Bless.
