Transformed by the Renewing of our Minds (Rom. 12:2)

Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

To renew means to make new. The Bible says that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. We are made new. Like an old car, we are given a new battery. Not just a jump start but a new battery. Not just an oil change but a new engine.

Just as we shall receive new glorified bodies at the Resurrection (Philippians 3:21), until that time we are receiving new minds conformed to His image.

The original creation knew no sin. Paradise was perfect. The Garden of Eden perfect. But when sin reared its head, in came doubt along with it (Gen. 3:1). Why do we fear, why do we doubt, we must we lust? For we have known sin (2 Corinthians 5:21).

But now is a blessed day, for we have known Him who is greater than sin, the one who has conquered sin and the works of the devil.

Genesis 3:15 "He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel."

Why do we think the way that we do? Why do we doubt when we should believe? Because the seed of doubt has been sown (Genesis 3:1)! Sin has entered in! Yet He no longer works on what is old but He gives to us that which is new!

Revelation 21:5 "Behold, I am making all things new."

Isaiah 65:17 "For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind."

A renewed mind is one that is the mind of Him, the mind of Christ.

1 Corinthians 2:16 "We have the mind of Christ."

As we walk with Him we shall be transformed! The Spirit filled mind shall think as He thinks. It shall believe as He does. It shall know as He knows.

There shall be no more doubt, no more fear, only a perfect understanding and a confidence that only He can give. Brethren, this is a great calling that we have received from our Lord. To Him be the glory in all things! Now and forever more! God Bless! Amen.
