John 16:24 "Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full."

Scriptures say that we have not because we do not ask (James 4:2 "You do not have because you do not ask."). What Jesus was saying to His Disciples in the Upper Room in John chapter 16 was that God is looking to fulfill all of our desires and needs, the only thing is that we need to come to Him to receive these things.

So does this mean that God will give to us everything we ask for and desire? Well, not necessarily. You see, what we desire or want, and what we truly need can be two different things. God is looking to bless us, not harm us. He only wants to give unto us what is good in life, what we truly need. Some things God knows will not be a blessing for us, just as a father does not always give a child everything the child asks for, especially when that something will be harmful to the child. This fulfills James 4:3 which says that we also have not when we ask amiss.

Luke 11:9-13 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.

Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"

Matt. 7:11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!"

You see, all we need to do is ask God and come to Him in faith, believing that He is able to fulfill all our needs and desires! Matthew 21:22 says that all things we ask believing, or trusting God, we shall receive!

Matt. 21:22 "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."

Look to Jesus, for He is looking to bless you with all things that are good in your life!

John 14:14 "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it."
