When we love those that persecute us, I think that it really shows the love of Jesus. It's easy for anyone to love someone who loves them back, and this is good too, but it takes a real person, someone who knows the love of God in their heart, to really love someone who does them wrong.
I think the ultimate example of this love is when Jesus was hanging on the cross. Even though He was mocked by those who had put Him there, He still found it in His heart to ask forgiveness for them, and to continue to love them.
This is the love of God, the love that we can only know and experience and give as we walk and remain in Him. For He is love. And He fills our hearts with His love as we know Him.
Romans 5:5 "The love of God has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us".
The love of God that is given to us by the Holy Spirit will allow us to love even those that do us wrong. What a wonderful and powerful love this is, beyond anything this world has ever seen or known, except in Jesus Christ Himself! God Bless!
