A Love the World Has Never Seen (1 John 2:15)

There is a love that the world has never known, a love so perfect that the world has never seen nor known. This is the love of God in Jesus Christ. It is in the heart of every believer and Child of our Father. The world has no room for this kind of love, no place for a love of this kind. For this kind of love is gentle, it is kind. This kind of love thinks no evil of another. This kind of love does no wrong. The love of this kind is the perfect love of Christ in every born again believer, and as we walk with our Heavenly Father and wonderful Lord, we are perfected in this love and transformed into His spirit, His compassion, a compassion for all. This truly is a wonderful love that the world does not know, but we know Him. He truly is the one who is true love, the author of all, the and the sustainer. He is the bond and the substance that keeps us together, united as one. He is the Lord, and He is our God. God Bless.

1 John 3:2 "Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is."

The Lord Your Provider (Gen. 22:14)

Jehovah Jireh (or Yahweh Yireh in the Hebrew) means the Lord will see to it, or, the Lord our Provider. This is one of the Divine names of God given to us in the Old Testament and it is useful at showing us more about God and the Lord's character (who He is).

Jesus Christ and the Word of God, the Bible, give us a revelation or revealing as to Who God truly is. When God asked Abraham to make the sacrifice of Abraham's son Isaac (don't worry, he didn't have to do it), the Angel of the Lord appeared to Abraham and let him off the hook, because although a sacrifice was needed, Abraham knew that God was going to provide that sacrifice (Gen. 22:8).

Gen. 22:8 "Abraham said, "God will provide for Himself the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." So the two of them walked on together. "

This lamb that God provided was the burnt offering of His Son Jesus Christ on the very same mountain almost 1500 years later. Jesus is the Lamb of God, and God truly did provide for us a sacrifice, just as Abraham knew. Because of His death, He takes our place just as the lamb took Isaac's place at the time. He is our sacrificial Lamb. The righteous for the unrighteous. The godly for the ungodly. (1 Pet. 3:18)

How else is God our Provider? Well, He provides for us on a daily basis. Just as He fed the Children of Israel in the Wilderness for the forty years with the manna from Heaven, so does He feed us each and every day with our physical and spiritual food. Jesus is the manna from Heaven that God feeds us with each and every day, in addition to His Word and the food that is on our table each and every day. He is the bread that sustains us and keeps us alive, spiritually and mentally, and the natural food keeps us alive physically. It's great to serve such an awesome God! Jehovah Jireh, the Lord our Provider! God bless!

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."– Phil. 4:19

The Love of a Father (Matt. 7:11)

The love of a Father is a wonderful thing. God has chosen the relationship of a father and a son to represent His love for us. The father seeks to give everything to the son, and would even give up His own life for the son, which is exactly what Jesus Christ did on the cross for us. In this way God has shown His love toward us in His Son. Jesus Christ also went on to say that God's love for us as His Children is even greater than anything we have known.

Matt. 7:7-11 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!"

God's love for us is so perfect that He has chosen to represent it by the love of a father for a son, but even our natural understanding does not compare to the true love that God has for man. Man is imperfect and has sin, but we were created in His image and continue to reflect some of these great truths of who God is, even if not perfectly.

But the love of a father for a son is a wonderful thing and a beautiful representation of God's own love for us! Come to Him and let Him reveal that special love He has for you as one of His Children.

He Sent Forth His Word & Healed Them! (Ps. 107:20)

Psalm 107:20 says that the Lord sent forth His Word (that is Jesus) and healed them. Jesus is the Word made flesh (John 1:14), He is the One whom God has sent forth to heal us of our sins and infirmities. Let's look at the rest of the verse, it says:

Psalm 107:20 JPS "He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves."

Jesus, the Word of God made flesh, not only delivered us from our sins and healed us ("By His stripes we are healed" 1 Pet. 2:24), but He has delivered us also from the grave!

John 5:24 NASB "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life."

Revelation 1:18 NASB "And the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades"

When we believe on the Son of Man, we pass from death to life. The judgement and condemnation that came upon the first Adam and spread to all mankind (Romans 5:14) is lifted and destroyed when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. Sin has no more power where Jesus reigns and rules in our lives, and He has the power to destroy sin and to conquer the grave for us.

Revelation 1:5 NASB "From Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood".

If you have believed upon the Son of Man, Jesus Christ, you can truly rest assured that you too will be saved from the grave, delivered of your sins and set on High by the hand of the Almighty! God Bless!

Deepest Heart Desires & Dreams (Rom. 8:31)

God seeks to bless you out of His great love for you and to give to you your very deepest heart's desires and dreams. This is because God has created you to enjoy Him and to enjoy the wonderful life that He has given to you. God wants to see you succeed, and He is never holding you back but always pressing you forward into greater and greater heights and depths that you can greater understand His love and purpose for you in life.

So move forward with God and allow Him to transform you and to become a big part of your life. For He has a plan and a hope and a future for you (Jer. 29:11), so rely on Him and lean on Him and let Him take you to where you should be.

Remember, we all have a purpose and a place in life, a Divine purpose that we have all been created for, a special purpose that God has for each and every one of our lives. So open up and let Him in for He eagerly seeks to bless you and to give you abundantly more than we can even imagine (Ephesians 3:20). God is good all the time! God Bless!

Prayer, Opening Your Heart Up to God (1 Pet. 5:7)

So what is the purpose of prayer? What should be your goal in prayer? I believe that prayer should be a time to really open up to God. This is the time when we come before the throne of mercy and grace (Heb. 4:16) and we are able to pour all about upon that throne, knowing that we shall receive an answer from the Almighty.

1 John 3:21 "Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God"

If our hearts do not condemn us (because God is not condemning us, see article No Condemnation in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1)) we have boldness before God because He has made a way for us to come to Him through His glorious Son Jesus Christ whom He has given unto us. Praise His name! So when we come to God, we need not fear, but rather pour our hearts out and let God know of all of our needs and wishes, anything that may be troubling or anything we need to say or "get off our chests". Remember, don't bear the burden because Jesus has already bore it for you! Come to God and let Him take care of it, knowing that He is greater than all and already knows all in our hearts (1 John 3:20) and loves us regardless.

So cast all your worries and anxieties upon Him, knowing that He cares for you and that He is there to help and to strengthen you. Rather than worry, (which is negative energy), redirect it toward God and you will find the peace of the Holy Spirit coming into your heart and mind. In things you used to worry about, you will no longer fret but have great peace, for this is a great peace that comes from above. In all things, let Him take care of it, because that is what He is here for. He loves us and cares for us and seeks to help us and to hear from us. So pour your heart out to God and let Him know all, and you will find a perfect peace that passes all understanding. Let Him take care of you! Bless!

1 Pet. 5:7 "Casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you"

No Condemnation in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1)

The Bible says that there is no condemnation (or judgement) for us in Jesus Christ. You must remember that God looks down on us with understanding and love. He understands all of our faults, He knows what we have been through in life, and He never judges us! Jesus said that He judges no one, even though He has the right to judge (John 8:15-16)! You see, because He is without fault, that gives Him authority to judge, yet because of His love, Jesus does not judge nor condemn (it is our own sin that condemns us, we can not live forever with sin (Gen. 3:22), but praise God that He has made the sacrifice for us and we are now justified by faith! Gal. 2:16).

So when we walk in Christ, we have no more condemnation. That's because He is the perfect sin offering. I love how the Psalmist David said,

Psalm 103:14 "For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust."

What is the Psalmist saying? He's saying that even when we forget, He remembers that we are only dust. He knows who we truly are. He knows and remembers that we were conceived in sin and birthed in iniquity (Psalm 51:5)! Sometimes we can forget this, but the Lord remembers. And in His undying love He has sent forth His Only Begotten Son, that no matter what we do and what we have done, He loves us and has made provision for us in His Son Jesus Christ, to Him be the glory!

So we can walk as victors in Jesus Christ. We can rise above sin, depression, condemnation, doubt and worry, because God had done it for us! He has made the perfect provision, and in Him there is no more condemnation for His sacrifice was perfect and His love is perfect for all who come to Him seeking His love and grace.
We need not worry or doubt but give thanks for all that the Father and the Son have truly done for us! God Bless!

Sing and Make Melody in Your Hearts! (Col. 3:16)

Sing and make melody in your heart with joy unto the Lord! God loves to hear you sing, and when you sing praises unto Him, all of your worries begin to disappear. When we give thanks we are filled with the Holy Ghost (Eph. 5:18) and surrounded by the presence of Almighty God. A joyful, thankful heart is a beautiful thing in the eyes of God, a very precious thing.

Ask Him to fill you with His joy and you will be singing in no time! Ask Him to place a song of joy and thanksgiving upon your lips. The Psalms are full of songs inspired by God Himself. Great songs of praise and joy (particularly the last ten or so). Actually the word for Psalms, can mean either songs or praises (depending on what language you are looking at, I think both are appropriate here!). Singing and making melody in our hearts or out loud unto God is a wonderful thing and a tremendous blessing and God loves to hear you sing and to let Him know your love and thankfulness for all that He does. God bless!

Colossians 3:16 "Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

The Blessings we Receive from Knowing Him

There's a law that says when we give, we receive. This applies for everyone, believer and unbeliever alike, even Jesus understood this law (Luke 6:38 "Give and it shall be given unto you). But I believe there is an even greater law, something which is not really a law unto itself, but rather a simple Truth. This is the simple truth of knowing God and all that comes from that knowing. As we know the Blesser, we have access to the blessings, and we are able to bless others in return. Also, as we seek God, we shall become more like Him. And God is giving in nature. He is the Ultimate Giver. And He will transform our hearts to match His as we actively seek Him.

Because the Almighty is never ending, the blessings we are able to receive from God are in abundance and they are never ending as we are in Him. In Genesis God told Abraham that He would bless Him and that He would make Abraham a blessing unto others. When we are blessed, we are able to bless others. We become the blessing! What we receive from God, we are able to give to others, and we never run out! How? Because we know the Blesser, and His supply is limitless! (God never runs out, He just makes more!) This allows us to give in abundance to others and never run out nor grow tired or weary (He is also our Sustainer!).

So when God says that He will meet our every need, He means it! When it says that He will meet all the needs of others in our lives, He means it too! Remember, God is not limited, but limitless. He is only limited when we limit Him. So have faith in God to bless you and meet the needs of all those around you, because this is what God wants to do! It's in His nature. And as you become more of a giver, you will become more Christ like and begin to understand His nature! There is so much blessing in giving, and when we give, we truly receive! God Bless!

Music, the Language of the Spirit (Eph. 5:19)

Music is a spiritual language. It is a language that speaks to all of our hearts. It is truly a blessing and a great gift from God. I believe that music will be a big part of us when we make it to the next life. As a matter of fact, a lot of people who have had near death experiences, have reported great wonderful music on the other side. I believe also that angels, when they are ministering to God create music (Rev. 5:9)! When you read the book of Revelation you will see these angels singing songs unto God & the Lamb!

Rev. 5:9 "And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.""

I believe that music is a spiritual language and this is why it has such an ability to touch our hearts, send tears to our eyes and open our eyes to what is really around us. Of course, music inspired by God that is (just like everything there is a counterfeit dark side which bears no fruit). But music that is inspired by God is wonderful. It is able to touch our hearts and open our eyes and can be a wonderful joy.

I also do believe there are some who have a ministry of music and who are greatly inspired to do praise, worship, or any kind of music that touches peoples lives and/or brings glory of God.

Psalm 40:3 "He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear
And will trust in the LORD."

Isaiah 42:10 "Sing to the LORD a new song,
Sing His praise from the end of the earth!
You who go down to the sea, and all that is in it
You islands, and those who dwell on them.

Just remember to seek God and not the music first (seek ye first the kingdom of heaven) and everything you need will be added unto you. God bless!

Eph. 5:19 "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;"

The Heart of Jesus

The heart of Jesus is one of compasion and understanding. It is a heart that always forgives, never judges. It is a heart of great warmth and mercy. It is a heart that understands our every needs (Heb. 4:15) and calls out to us, even in our darkest hours.

This is the spirit we are to minister to others. When we minister with this heart, when we have this great compasion that our wonderful High Priest had, our words will be powerful and effective, our touch will heal, our voices will sooth, our very prescense will deliver.

In this heart of Jesus all bonds will be broken. All affliction will be healed. All wounds will be mended. We will come to know the Lord more as we experience and share this great love. When we give, we receive. When we share, we understand. This is a love to be experienced, a love to be enjoyed. This love truly transforms and heals us, our very hearts and souls.

When we have love like this we shall move mountains and the enemy shall not stop us. For when love comes, all else must go, and only that which is lovely shall remain. Let us pray for this heart of Jesus, for it is a wonderful heart, full of grace and truth, that shall lift us to new heights and make us conquerors of all (Rom. 8:37).

Jesus, A friend to All (John 15:15)

The wonderful thing about Jesus is He is a friend to all. He will never turn anyone away, and He fully accepts all who come to Him. Jesus plays no favoritism, nor is He a respecter of persons. This is what perfect love is.

Perfect love never judges. Perfect love is kind to all. The perfect love that is Jesus Christ is a friend no matter what.

John 15:15 "No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you."

Even though Jesus is King of all Kings, He is still humble enough to wash our feet and to call us our friend! What a wonderful saviour we have! God bless.

The Glory of the Lord (1 Cor. 6:19)

The Glory of the Lord God Almighty is found in our blessed Saviour Jesus Christ. Just as the "Shekinah" Glory of the Lord came upon the Children of Israel in their wanderings in the wilderness, so does this very Glory come upon our hearts and minds as we open up to the promptings and leadings of the Holy Spirit of God.

Because this is the very presence of God Himself, the Bible makes it known that we are now the Temples of God, and the Holy Spirit is dwelling in us as believers, for we are that very same Temple that housed the Presence of the Lord over 2000 years ago (which was a type of the Church and the individual believer today). (1 Cor. 6:19)

The Holy Spirit in our hearts is the Prescense of God (the "Shekinah Glory") in the Tabernacle and later the Temple of God (located in Jerusalem)(1 Cor. 3:16). Our hearts, or our innermost beings represent the Holy of Holies, the place where God resided and only the High Priest was allowed to enter into on a yearly basis to make atonement for the sins of the people. But when Jesus died on the cross, the veil that separated man and God, the veil that kept anyone from entering the Holy of Holies, was literally torn in two (Matt. 27:51). A way had been paved for us to come directly to God through the death of our Saviour the Messiah!

Now the Holy Spirit comes into our hearts and makes atonement for our sins, purifying us and cleansing us, making us more like Him. This is the place that we come to God, in our very hearts. This is why David was a man after God's own heart! You see, we have the very presence, the very Glory of God in our midst, literally in our hearts, leading us and guiding us just as it did the Children of Israel in the Wilderness (cloud by day, fire by night) and healing us just as Jesus Christ healed 2000 years ago, and still today.

This is a wonderful gift and not to be taken too lightly. That's why the Apostle Paul says

1 Cor. 6:19 "What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you"

Just as the Temple in the Old Covenant had three areas, the Outer, the Inner and the Holy of Holies (the place where God resided), so do we also have these similar areas with the Holy of Holies being our very own hearts and the presence of God living through us in these most Holy Places.

So we are the Temple, and the glory of the Lord dwells in us, causing us to shine the light of Jesus Christ into a darkened world, that all may know God and come to glorify Him for who He is. What a wonderful God we truly have! Amen! God bless!

The Word Became Flesh (John 1:14)

John 1:1-2 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God."

Jesus is the Word of God made flesh. He is the exact representation of the Bible and He is everything the Bible speaks of.

John 5:39-40 "You search the Scriptures, because you think you will find eternal life in them. The Scriptures tell about me, but you refuse to come to me for eternal life."

This Word, this Eternal Word came down from the heavens, spoken by God Himself and dwelt among us. This Word which is Jesus performed miracles and healed the sick. He caused the lame to walk and the blind to see. Virtue and healing flowed from within Him, and all who came to Him were healed.

Psalm 107:20 "He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions."

Jesus was the Word that God sent forth to heal the people. Jesus is our healer. He is everything the Old Testament spoke of. He is the fullness of the Godhead bodily (Col. 2:9). He represents everything that God is. He is the image of the Glory of God. The Shekinah glory that came down and rested on the Tabernacle in the wilderness. He is the grace and the love of God manifested. Everything that the Bible speaks of, everything that God is, we see and is manifested in Christ. When we look to Christ and the Cross we see the love of God, the forgiveness of God, the compassion and fellowship of God.

We see everything that God is in Jesus Christ. He is the new covenant that God has made with His people. He is the purpose of God from the beginning. Everything we need is in Jesus, and He is ever here to save us from our troubles. He is the Word made flesh that has dwelt among us! Amen.

The Power of the Holy Spirit in Prayer (Rom. 8:26-27)

The Holy Spirit helps us through prayer when we are in need. It is very important to learn to "pray by the Spirit", because this will be a very effective and very powerful prayer that will have tremendous results and bear much fruit. Also, the prayer by the Holy Spirit will be a faith filled prayer, you will know that you are speaking directly to God and you will know that He is listening to your great prayer of righteousness.

The Bible says that the prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16). Because there is no one righteous (that is on their own) (Romans 3:10), righteousness comes by the Spirit of God indwelling a believer.

The Bible also says that the Holy Spirit makes intercession for us because we know not what we ought to pray for (Rom. 8:26). Get that! We don't even know what we are supposed to be praying about! But it is the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit that helps us out and leads us to pray for whatever we should or need prayer for! This is the power of prayer and the ministry of intercession that the Holy Spirit makes for us. (Romans 8:27)

Elijah was a man filled with the Holy Spirit and faith in His God and when he prayed, the very heavens were shut up or opened. This is the power of the Holy Spirit in our daily prayer life. Trust the Holy Spirit to make effective and powerful prayer through you and give everything to God, including your daily prayer life and you will see tremendous results and improvement! God bless!

Sin, the Bondage that Holds us Back

Sin is the bondage that holds us back, it's the struggle that keeps us from doing what we should be doing. Sin keeps us in lock and under hold. It restrains us and only gets tighter as it is allowed to remain.

Sin keeps us in worry, doubt, desperation, hopelessness, fear, etc. We all have sin and fear when we come into this world, that's a part of who we are. But, it is only through the blood of Jesus and the power of God's Spirit that we are set free from these sins and the great bondage that it brings.

Remember that the chains have been broken, they were broken when Jesus' body was broken upon the cross 2000 years ago, and that's how the Bible can say that we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us! (Rom. 8:37) We have been set free by the precious blood of the Lamb! God Bless!

Rev. 1:5 "To Him who loves us and released us from our sins by His blood!"

Partakers of the Divine Nature

Through the Holy Spirit of God that was given on the day of Pentecost, we are able not only to fellowship with the Father and the Son, but we are also able to partake of the Divine Nature. What does this mean? Well, the power of the Holy Spirit transforms us, making us more like our Maker, more like Jesus Christ.

So how do we know when we are partaking of this Divine Nature? Well, for one, just like the Apostle Paul and the Disciples of Jesus, you too will be transformed from the inside out. This is the power and the working of the Holy Spirit in us. Call it a renovation process if you will, but the Holy Spirit has that kind of power to change our lowly bodies and hearts to be more like His.

Addictions are broken, chains are thrown down, fears vanish, and love comes to replace all! This is the power of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and the sufferings that He went through for us. After He suffered and died, He was raised to new life and has presented us with the blessed gift of the Holy Spirit. This Spirit is so powerful, that it is able to change even the lowliest of sinners into holy men. This is because the gift is from above, and not of ourselves. It's not our own power but His! Even the Apostle Paul found this out when he wrote,

Romans 7:24-25 "Wretched man that I am! Who will set me free from the body of this death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord!."

Paul knew that there was nothing good in himself, in his flesh (Rom. 7:18), but He also knew that God had given Him a power far greater than Paul's own self to conquer all the sin in Paul's own life. Paul, one of the holiest men in the Bible, started out as one of the chiefest sinners (1 Tim. 1:15)! But, he became a partaker of the Divine Nature, and it changed his life forever! Who shall deliver us from these bodies of death? Praise be to God who has done it through our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of His Spirit. God Bless.

1 Tim. 1:15 NASB"It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all."

The Disciples (Acts 4:13)

Jesus' disciples were twelve ordinary men, chosen by God for one great calling. These were men from all different backgrounds and histories, but they all came together to fulfill one Divine purpose.

The interesting thing about the twelve men that Jesus chose to follow Him and learn from the Master Himself, was that none of these men were religious scholars or pompous men. These were all ordinary men from all walks of life. They all had different jobs ranging from Peter, James and John the fishermen, to Matthew a tax collector.

The men were so ordinary, that look at what the religious leaders said about them calling them ordinary men,

Acts 4:13 "Now as they observed the confidence of Peter and John and understood that they were uneducated and untrained men, they were amazed, and [began] to recognize them as having been with Jesus."

But the thing that set them apart was not their religious training or background. No, it was the fact that was stated above, they had been with Jesus! They had learned from Him and walked with Him and grown to know and trust Him. Anyone who puts their trust in Jesus and spends time with Him will be a changed person too! Jesus has that kind of power!

So what set these ordinary men apart and enabled them to preach the gospel and do so many extraordinary things for God? They had been with Jesus! They spent time with Him and fellowshiped with Him and knew Him! That was the power that they had! That was exactly what the Pharisees and others saw when they looked at these ordinary men who had been changed by one extraordinary Man! God bless!

We See Jesus

It doesn't yet appear what we shall be, but we know when we see Him, we shall be made like as to He is, having a glorious body like His, seeing Him face to face. What a day that shall be!

Have you ever wondered what that glorious day will be like? That day when we shall come face to face with the Son of God?

The Bible says that for now we see in part, but then we shall see completely, no longer looking through a glass darkly, but we shall see Jesus as He truly is. Although we have the Word of God to teach us about Him, we know of His death to perceive His love He has for us, we still will see even more on that glorious day. For we shall be face to face with the One that truly is our own, the One to whom we truly belong.

We have this hope knowing that one day we shall see Him, and we shall be like Him, and wherever He is, there we shall be with Him. Forever and ever, even unto the end of the age! God bless.

A Call to Arms!

Pick up your weapons boys, we're going to war!

Altough all of us have our own battles of faith to fight ("Fight the good fight of faith" 1 Tim. 6:12), I believe there is also a spiritual battle that each of us engage in as Sons of the Most High.

Eph. 6:12 "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places."

We wrestle and we battle with these forces of darkness, also known as the kingdom of darkness, just as the men of Israel did battle against the neiboring tribes over 2000 years ago. The only difference is, our battle is not a physical one any more (flesh and blood), but a spiritual battle against the demons and host of wickedness.

But there is good news! These demons and spiritual hosts including the grand daddy of them all, the devil himself, have already been defeated!

When Jesus Christ went to the cross 2000 years ago, He stripped the devil of His power. The Bible says that He triumphed over them at the cross!

1 Cor. 2:8 "which none of the rulers of this world hath known: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory:"

Col. 2:15 "And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it [the cross]."

Our Lord Jesus Christ literally stripped the devil and all His dominion when He went to the cross and gave up His own life, shedding His blood! The devil had no idea the victory that was truly going to come from what seemed to be a major blow against God's plans. But Jesus rose again, showing the victory and power that He has over death and the devil as the blessed Son of God.

These principalities and powers represent the devil and all his dominion, all his little goons we could call them. But the great thing is we don't have to fear and we already have authority over all of the kingdom of darkness through the mighty Name of Jesus Christ and the power of His shed blood! To the victor goes the spoils, and as a Child of God that means you! God bless.

In the Name of Jesus Christ

We as Christians have been given a very powerful name that when spoken by the Spirit of God carries a lot of authority with it, and when used correctly (by the authority of God), has the power to send even the biggest of demons running for their lives! How is there so much authority behind this name?

Well, Jesus Himself said that "if you ask anything in My name, it shall be done for you." (John 14:14). Why is this? Well, this is a name that has much authority. It is a name that is higher than the heavens themselves, and at this name all things must bow, wheter in heaven or in earth (Phil. 2:9). The reason this name has so much authority is because of the person it represents and the things that He has done. When you understand what this man has accomplished for us, and the power that we receive when we believe on Him, you will understand more the power and authority that comes through this name.

Do you remember the story of David and Goliath? Well, Goliath was the biggest man from the tribe of the Philistines, and nobody from the tribe of Israel wanted to fight him. Nobody except a humble little boy named David who would grow up latter to become a might king! So how did David defeat Goliath? Well, I'll give you a hint: It wasn't in his own power!

You see, David before he threw the stone that would defeat Goliath in a perfect shot to the head declared, "I come at you in the name of the Lord God of the Heavens!". Although Goliath easily could have defeated the shorter David, he was no match for the God of the Heavens! Goliath was struck down and defeated. Score one for David! So how did David do it? He used the name of the Lord his God, which meant calling upon Him rather than relying upon His own strength. You see, anytime we call upon His name, we have victory and we have power. This is because we are relying upon His strength, His power, His authority, His might, and not our own. The Apostle Paul even said that "when I am weak, then am I strong (2 Cor. 12:10)" for then the power of Christ rested upon Him. Paul had learned to call upon the name of the Lord his God and that precious name that is above all the heavens. For that is our true strength and victory! Amen.

Saved from the Wrath to Come (1 Thess. 1:9-10)

The Bible says that we as Christians will be saved out of the wrath that is to come. This gives us a great hope in a world that is beginning to balance on the edge of "what's going to happen next?" It's very easy to get wrapped up in all this, and it's just as easy to brush it off and go about our normal lives as if nothing is happening. But the good news is that we as Christians never have to live in fear of any of this! Why? Because we have a greater promise. The Bible has told us that we as believers in Jesus Christ, shall be saved out of the wrath that is to come! although this is a dreadful thing for the world, this is our salvation and promise to look forward to. We also know, that this is something that must take place. Why?

You see, sin is death, and all sin is deserving of judgement. It can not exist in the presence of a righteous God. This is why Jesus Christ had to die to justify the guilty and to offer a way to pay back the sin debt we as mankind have been born into. If sin did not have to be judged, Jesus Christ would never have had to die the death that He did for us, He could have just kept on living. But because sin must be punished, Jesus Christ had to die and take the sin penalty and the wrath of a righteous God upon Himself.

In John 3:16 the Bible says that "God so loved the world that He gave His Only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall have Eternal Life". You see, God loved you and I so much, He didn't want to see anyone have to suffer the judgement that was coming upon all mankind, so He provided a solution. He sent His only Begotten, Jesus Christ to bear the sin and the wrath of death that we all deserved.

So know as justified believers in Christ, were does that leave us? The Apostle Paul says that we are "children of the light (1 Thess. 5:5)" and that we need not fear this dreadful day. Why? Because we are saved from the wrath to come!

Accepted in Christ

We are all accepted in Christ. Through Christ and His shed blood, we all have access unto the Father. When Jesus Christ died, the veil at the temple was torn in two. This veil had originally separated man from the Holy of Holies. This was the place were God resided. Only the High Priest could enter in to this place once a year, and that was only after a long ritual to prepare himself to enter into this Holy of Holies (shows the cleanliness required to enter the Presence of God.)

So when Jesus died on the cross and the veil was torn, man was no longer seperated from a Holy God. Through Jesus the veil is torn, the veil we previously could not enter, and we now have direct access to the Father through the Holy Spirit given unto us! Furthermore, we are accepted in Christ. We are part of the beloved and we are accepted into the great family of God, never to be outcast, but permanently accepted by the great atoning blood of our wonderful loving Saviour Jesus Christ.

Thank God we have such a loving wonderful Saviour and that He has loved us enough to make such a great provision for us that we can have a great wonderful relationship with Him and know of His everlasting love for us! Take Care! God Bless!

(1 Jn. 4:10) Love, the Answer to all Your Needs

The love of God in Jesus Christ is truly the answer to all of our needs. God could have chosen to give us anything. He could have given us money (not that He still doesn't provide this), He could have given us power, He could have given us a number of things, but the thing that He chose to give us was His Son.

Jesus was the answer to all of our spiritual needs. All of our deepest hurts and desires. The love of God truly transforms us and makes us whole again. The Bible says, "Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God". A pure heart is one that is filled with the love of our Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ. No man has known this love, a love so powerful that He gave His life, until they come to know that one Who truly is love.

Grace is such a powerful word, and it is a word that can only be explained through the love that God is. On the cross, grace is personified. God never gave us a definition of grace, He showed it to us. He painted us a beautiful picture for all eyes to see. That picture may have been an ugly one at the time, but it was a beautiful display of the awesome power of love of Jesus Christ.

This love the world has never known, and had it known this love, I believe things would truly be a whole lot better. You see, love has the power to change. The power to heal. The power to set free and to capture the heart and the mind. It's what we were created for. To know God and the love that He not only offers, but that He is.

So let this precious love of God in our Saviour Jesus Christ set you free. For this love has a power to heal you. It has a power to transform you. It has a power to take you higher than the heavens themselves, and nothing can hold you back. Grow in the grace, knowledge and love of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen!

Psalm of Thanksgiving - July 22, 2007

Here is a little Psalm that I felt inspired to write today!

I will give thanks unto the Lord my God
For He is a Mighty God
Strong in deed and might

I will give thanks unto the Lord my God
For His righteousness endures forever
and His judgements are justice and without blame

You are righteous my God and your love endures forever
You are without blame
And in you I will put my trust

Night and day I shall praise you and exalt your name
For great is Your Name above all
Yeah, even the highest heavens can not hold you nor keep you back when the wrath of the King is stirred up

Yeah, Great and Righteous is our God
Blessed is His name and worthy of all praise
So sing and give thanks unto the Lord our God
The glorious King who sits upon His throne
Whom there is no other

Give respect and honor unto the Lord our God
Bring gifts unto the King lest His anger be stirred up
Give glory where honor is due
Give justice and be humble

For this is the will of the Lord our God
King of the heavens and all the Earth!

Through the Trials (Romans 8:31)

God will always see you through the trials no matter what as you continue to look to Him. He is always there to help and He seeks the best for your life. So know that He is there, and depend upon Him always, for He is your Helper, your Guidance, your Lord. He is the Good Shepard (Psalm 23) and He will lead you to the still waters and protect you from the wolves. He will point out any wolves in sheep's clothing and will teach you the right way to go. He will always be there for you, especially when you need Him the most.

So look unto Him always. Not just in times of trouble or distress, but at all times. For He shall surely provide you a way out. He shall surely be a Light to guide you home, even through the darkest paths and deepest trials. Hallelujah! Amen.

What Saith the Scriptures? (John 19:24)

Luke 24:26 "Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?"

The Scriptures speak of Jesus the Messiah. The blessed One who was to come, die, give His life on the cross, that all who believe in Him might receive Eternal Life. This One is Whom the blessed Scriptures speak of. This is the Chosen One of God sent to redeem all mankind from their fallen state.

All the way back to the Garden of Eden, man was enticed by the wicked one, fallen in sin and greatly in need of a saviour. Do you ever notice that so many movies feature a saviour figure? I believe that it is a natural instinct in us to understand the Saviour figure, to know deep down that a Saviour is to come, one to redeem mankind and to save them from their fallen state.

In steps Jesus. Unto a scene almost 2000 years in the past to face the wrath of a fallen world and the religious figures who sat on top. To face the very devil himself and with the sins of the world in their entirety. Did He succeed?

After over three years of healing and preaching, Jesus gave His life as a ransom for many (Matt. 20:28). He laid down His life and allowed the depths of the grave to swallow Him whole. And not only a peaceful death, but a death that would shock and stun most at the very thought. A death of so much agony and blood spill, one that the Bible itself must gloss over for it is too much to describe on the words of a simple page.

A simple man, yet not a simple life. A life filled with love and laughter, healing and distress (especially for those who would come to love Him). All in anticipation of that gruesome day to come, when He would lay His life down, truly as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45).

And as we look back today on what our Saviour accomplished, we don't know what must have been going through His mind at the time, maybe thoughts of love and compassion for His accusers ("Father forgive them, they know not what they do! [Luke 23:34]"). But we know that He must have known, even from the beginning, the tragic end that He would have to face. But He was not without hope. He knew that the end was truly the beginning. He knew that death had no hold over Him, that the grave had no power over Him. And He laid down His life, knowing that His blood would be shed, and that many would be saved.

This was a day of defeat, but also a great day of victory. For He would rise again. He would see the light of day. And truly, His followers would then know the truth. They would see Him for who He truly was. Being blinded partly until that time, they would finally begin to understand. The mission, the journey, the life of this great man whom we know as God. A life of perfection. A life of love and compassion, joy and healing. Many saved and many more to come for our triumphant Lord on that dark but glorious day at Calvary!

God bless!

Why God Desires to Fellowship with Man

The Psalmist said something very interesting once, he said:

Psalm 8:4 "What is man that Thou art mindful of him, and the son of man that Thou dost visit him?"

You see, after seeing the blessed glory of God revealed to Him through the Spirit of God, the Psalmist was left asking, who really is man? And why would such a glorious God be interested in man?

Although some may believe that we have been somehow abandoned by our Creator, God has not left us without hope, and He is continually communicating to us, not only His presence but also His love for us and desire to fellowship and take part with man (a.k.a. "break bread").

So why does God desire to fellowship with man knowing that man pales in comparison to His Glory and has nothing to offer to the One who already has it all. The answer to the Psalmists question lies in knowing directly who God truly is. Yes, in our feeble states and conditions it's hard for us to imagine wanting to spend time with someone "at the bottom", someone who has nothing to give to us in return. But let's look at Jesus.

Jesus the perfect manifestation of God's love to the world made no attempt to separate Himself from those around Him. Even the one that he knew would betray him, He still continued to fellowship and live with. Imagine, the mos holy of holies in a world of sin. But He walked with us, He talked to us, He healed us and He set us free. He even dined with us, and with the least of sinners.

The Apostle Paul even said that he was the "chiefest of sinners", forgiven by the blood of Jesus Christ that the grace of God might be seen to all(1 Tim. 1:15). Wow, what a statement! And what a truth that is! Paul knew the grace of God. He had experienced it first hand. He had come from persecuting the Church and the very body of Jesus Christ, to being confronted on the road to Damascus by our risen Lord, humbled, and then converted. Paul spent the next thirty years learning about the Grace and Truth of God after his conversion. He was a man who got to spend time with the Lord, he got to see the Lord, and the Lord was always there to comfort Him and see Him through every situation and road he had to travel down (2 Tim. 4:17). The Lord was always there to fellowship with Paul, even in his weakest of states, and proves that Jesus Christ does truly desire to fellowship also with you! God bless!

2 Tim. 4:17 KJV "Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion"

The Love of God in Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:39)

The love of God is a wonderful thing, transcending all that we know. It is not perceivable by our senses or conceived entirely in our thoughts. It is something so great that it must be experienced for oneself, then you shall truly know what this love is and what it truly represents. The Bible says that we can not even conceive in our minds what God has in store for us (1 Cor. 2:9-10), but that these things are revealed (made known, unveiled) unto us by the Holy Spirit which He has graciously given unto us. I believe it is the same for the wonderful love of God. Inconceivable by natural means, but attainable through the Spirit of God.

The Spirit of God and the love that is brought through that blessed Spirit is something to be experienced. It can not be fully explained by words, nor reasoned by the mind. Yes, the Bible does speak these words, but these words must be made alive by the One Who gave them, the One to whom all glory is due, then you will see truly what these words mean and speak.

So let the Spirit and the love of God speak to your heart, for it will set you free. It will raise you above the world, above all your past and all your hurt. It will teach you to be kind and gentle, not just to the ones that you love, but unto all. And you will also be blessed with the blessed peace that the Spirit brings with it. This peace is again beyond our knowing or understanding (Phil. 4:7). You could understand all the mysteries of the world and not have this kind of peace nor could I explain it to you with words to be understood, but it is truly a gift from God received through faith in the Son, in the Word, in the Lord God Almighty Himself. What blessed peace this is.

So when we look back to the cross, we are calmly reminded of God's love. The love that shall never leave us nor forsake (Heb. 13:5), that shall never separate us or turn against us (Rom. 8:5), that shall never leave us stranded and without hope, that shall never abandon us, nor turn away. This love reminds us of Him, and as we turn our eyes upon Him we see the glorious hope that is set before us and we learn of His love for us. We see it in the face of the Son. Warm, and never to be forgotten.

A peace and a love that warms us heart and soul. A love and a warmth that lifts our spirits and souls to new heights we never could have imagined. We pray for this blessed peace, for this joy, for this satisfaction that fills our souls and takes us to new heights. This is the love of Jesus, and it is real, for you and me. Poured out on a cross 2000 years ago, it still crys out through the blood stained hands and the whips on His back. Poor and blood beaten, He did it all, and He gave it all, for you and for me. That we might know Him, and the fullness of His suffering and glory. That we might be like Him. The unrighteous for the righteous. The blameless for the blameable. One shot that He took for you and for me. To all that would believe upon His glorious Name. That He might take them to new heights and depths. That we might cry His Name and sing His praise to the glory of the one and only Begotten. The one who poured out His life and gave it all for you and me. Rest in His peace and His glorious love. This is Jesus, and He is you, and you are me. God bless!

Why the Bible?

Why does God choose to communicate to us through the Bible? Well, actually, the Bible isn't the only way that God has chosen to communicate to us. Hebrews 1:2 says that in various ways and times God has spoken to us. Sometimes God speaks to us through Words on a page, sometimes through His Holy Spirit (which makes these same words come alive), sometimes through people (the prophets are the example used in Hebrews 1:2), sometimes even through the television or radio(God is not limited!).

God speaks to us all throughout the day through all different means around us. The question is, do we desire to hear? God is anxious and willing to speak to us and fellowship with us, we only need open our hearts and ears to Him. God loves us so much that He even sent His only Begotten Son to die for us and also to fellowship with us.

So how does the Bible tie into this all? The Bible is God's Word and speaks of God's Only Begotten Son. Jesus is the Word of God made flesh, and when we look to Him we are transformed into His Glory by the Spirit of God that has been given to us. There is no need to be alone when you have the Spirit of God upon you. Just open up your ears and your heart and listen to what the Father has to say to His child (that's you!). He eagerly desires to communicate with us and to let us know of His love and care for us! So let Him in. Don't fear but come to Him with open arms and He will embrace you for the rest of your life & in the one to come. Believe in Him and upon His Son and you will see tremendous changes in your life for the better! So look to Jesus, and you truly will be healed from the inside out! God bless.

Where Does Fear Come From?

The Bible says that God has not given us a spirit of fear, (but of power, love, and a sound mind). Any kind of spirit of fear is from the adversary and is a direct attack against a child of God. Any place that we are not trusting God is an open door for the Adversary to enter our lives. With the Adversary (the devil) also comes fear.

How do we get rid of this fear?
We get rid of fear by trusting in God. The Psalmist says:

Psalm 34:4 "I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."

When we seek the Lord and put our trust in Him, the Adversary can not touch us, and we are delivered from all of the power of darkness, from all of our fears and doubts. When we are filled with the Spirit of God, we are also filled with faith!

Acts 11:24 "For he [Barnabas] was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord."

Acts 6:5 "And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost"

When we trust in God, we are delivered from our fears! God is faithful to do it. God is as True and as Good as His Word says that He is! Just trust Him and put your faith in Him. He will take you to new heights, and you will truly soar on the wings of eagles, you will walk and not grow weary, you will run and not faint. For the Lord shall be your strength and hope, and in Him we shall put our trust. Blessed and true is His name! God bless. Amen!

Fear Not!

When the power of the Holy Spirit comes upon us, we need not fear anymore. Why? Because the Spirit of God lifts us from fear and imparts to us faith.

Do you know what is one of the main things that Jesus said to His disciples? "Fear not!". I believe that is one of the main things that the Holy Spirit is still telling us today as followers of Christ. Fear not!

You see, a Christian, a Child of God, is not to fear. Jesus never feared and neither did the Apostles after their glorious day on Pentecost. When the Holy Spirit comes, He brings faith and imparts that faith into our lives. Faith is one of the fruits of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians (Gal. 5:22). When we are blessed with faith, we no longer fear. You see, fear is the opposite of faith. Where faith exists, fear can no longer exist. It's a spiritual principles that nature abhors a vacuum, but when we have blessed faith, trust in the Almighty God, we are delivered from all fear and filled with the Holy Spirit and the blessed faith of God.

One of the things that the Pharisees must have noticed as when they were drilling the Apostle Stephen, was the great boldness that he spoke by! He didn't fear these men at all! Acts 6:8 said that Stephen was a man full of the Holy Spirit and faith. You see, the Holy Spirit had imparted great faith into this Man of God, and he was able to stand strong against the enemy without backing down.

Jesus a lot of times would say to His Disciples "You of little faith". This is because Jesus understood the great importance of faith. This is why He told His disciples not to fear, but rather to trust in God who will deliver you from all your fears as you look unto Him! God bless and Amen. Have a good night!

Job - a Man After God's Heart (Part 1 of 2)

Read part Two of this Article

We always hear about David, the man after God's own heart, but what about Job (pronounced "Jobe" like ear "lobe", not like the thing that you go to each day)? Job, just like King David, was also a man seeking after God. Although they were both quite different, they were also both quite the same (and both did find God in the end).

There are some great morals to learn about Job's life & the struggles that he faced. But the great thing to remember is, even though his struggles were tough, he still saw God in the end, and that's all that mattered!

In the book of Job (found somewhere near the middle of your Bible), Job is a humble man who loses his family and is stricken with a terrible plague, leading him to turn to God and ask the inevitable question, "Why me?". It turns out Job wasn't alone through all of this. He still had his wife, (who asked him to curse God), and Job's three friends, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar. Oh, and there is one more I forgot to mention. A young lad with great wisdom, who comes to save the day and speak for God by the name of Elihu (pronounced "Eli Who? It literally means, "He is God" in Hebrew).

So what happened to old Job? Well, Job had to learn some things. Mainly, Job had to learn who God was. (Near the beginning, Job said, "Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not. (Job 9:11)" Job had not yet seen God or knew Him in his heart!) But that was going to take some time. There were things that Job had to go through in his life. You see, Job had to learn to get past himself, he had to literally get to the "end of himself", and after that he finally saw God.

So what caused the leading up to this great climatic moment in Job's life. Well, Job was happily married with some kids, a farm (or whatever a farm would have been 3500 years ago), some cattle, a couple of servants, Job was living the good life. Job even made his daily sacrifices to Elohim, the Lord Almighty.

So what happened to Job? Well, Job lost what he had. Namely his sons, daughters, animals, as well as some other things. And just as you are feeling bad for Job, all of a sudden he is hit by a massive plague & is bedridden for months. So how did Job get through it all? By simple faith! Even, when Job's wife told him to curse God and die, Job wouldn't do it. He confessed the Lord's Soverignty:

Job 1:21 "the LORD giveth, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. "

You see, Job wasn't perfect to begin with (and neither are you and me!). Romans 3:23 says "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of G-d, being justified by faith!" This included Job too!

Job - A Man in Search of God Pt. 2

This is a Part Two of a Two Part Post. You can find Part One here: Job-A Man After God's Own Heart

Job was a very faithful man, in his religious duties (daily sacrifices, etc.), but he hadn't learned to truly know God, to practice faith and to trust God for all that he had. Job was still depending upon his own righteousness!

Job 31:4-12 NIV "Does he not see my ways and count my every step?
If I have walked in falsehood or my foot has hurried after deceit-
let God weigh me in honest scales and he will know that I am blameless-
if my steps have turned from the path, if my heart has been led by my eyes, or if my hands have been defiled,
then may others eat what I have sown, and may my crops be uprooted.
If my heart has been enticed by a woman, or if I have lurked at my neighbor's door,
then may my wife grind another man's grain, and may other men sleep with her.
For that would have been shameful, a sin to be judged.
It is a fire that burns to Destruction ; it would have uprooted my harvest"

There are a lot of pretty big "if's" in Job's statement.

Job 32:1-2 "So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes." 2Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.

There's the kicker! You see, Job was even surprised that these things would happen to him, because in his own eyes he saw himself as righteous. You see, Job was comparing himself to others and those around him, rather than looking at what true righteousness is. How many times do we do that and compare ourselves to the hardned criminal or one of our neighbors and say, "Well, I'm not that bad, look at him!"? Well, that's exactly what Job was doing! And he was laying his case before God, waiting for an answer. ( And God was going to give Him one, He was just waiting for the perfect time!)

After a whole bunch of dialogue between Job and his three friends (mostly arguing), finally a young man by the name of Elihu pipes up. He had been patiently waiting for everyone else to get through there opinions, so he could lay out the real picture for everyone (and what a picture he drew!). Elihu reproves Job and humbles him. He teaches him about God's righteousness, and what is truly just. Job even says that he believes "touching the Almighty, we cannot find Him out" (Job 37:23a). He still doesn't realize that He can have a relationship with God!

Finally, God Almighty, the One that Job thought that we couldn't see, appears to Job and teaches Him a little lesson. First God proceeds to ask Job if he can really do the things that only God can do, things like creating life, forming the earth, causing the birds to fly, etc. etc. Job is humbled by the Prescence of the Almighty (in his own living room!) and the speech that God has prepared for Job, and Job comes to realize that he isn't really that great of a guy. Well, he is, but not compared to the Big Man.

So what does this teach Job? It teaches him that he can have a relationship with God, that God is the justifier, that man is unjust, and that our relationship with God and His favor goes well beyond any kind of daily ritual sacrifice that we can do (which was what Job was doing). He learned to find God in His heart, and to listen to God rather than relying on his own strength and knowledge. He learned the greatness of God and just to trust in that greatness.
