Clothed in God’s Righteousness

There is an interesting passage in the Old Testament, book of Isaiah, where the prophet Isaiah is standing before God, only to discover that he naked and at fault.  Similarly, when we all stand before God, we see our nakedness, our own faults, we discover who we really are, and what we really aren’t.

But despite all this, God had a solution for Isaiah.  He didn’t leave Isaiah naked and unclothed, in his rags.  No, he dressed Isaiah, like he dresses us.  The Lord Jesus Christ is the sacrifice, the covering God has made for us all.  His righteousness, which He places upon us.  Not the righteousness we could ever earn or deserve, but that which He chooses to so graciously give unto us.

This is all to the glory of His praise, out of His love for us.  May you be forever clothed in His goodness and glory.  Amen.
