Just as in regular life we need water to survive, so in our Spiritual life we also need this same water to thrive. Many times in Scripture there are analogies used of us “coming to the water” and “drinking freely”. We need to have a thirst for God, and we need to come and satisfy that thirst with Him.
Revelation 22:1 “And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.”
This water emits directly from God and His Christ and this is the water that satisfies us Spiritually.
Did you know that the Holy Spirit is used many times in the Bible in conjunction with water?
John 7:37-39 “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)”
The Holy Spirit is described as having rivers of flowing water, that which Christ shall use to quench our thirsts.
John 4:10 “Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water.”
John 4:14 “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
Come to the River and drink freely of the gift of life which the Lord gives you today! There is nothing else to purchase He has done it freely in His Son, so give it all to Him knowing it has been done and allow Him to refresh your soul today with His streams and rivers of Living Water. God bless.
