Patience is something that our God would have us all to learn. Patience is also a fruit of knowing Him (see Galatians 5:22-23).
Imagine the Israelites having to wait before the Red Sea for God to act. Meanwhile, one of the most powerful armies of all the world is nipping at their heals and closing fast open though. But they dare not move, not without their God that is. So as the Egyptian army is steadfastly closing in on them, Moses waits in patience, only holding up the staff which God had given him, for he knew that God would act, he knew that God would show himself strong. This faith gave him such great patience and perseverance, waiting upon the Lord our God.
And God did act, He came through and showed himself strong, as He always does for those who wait upon Him and trust His might hand.
Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God"

The Place for the Commandments (Gal. 3:24)
Galations 3:24 "Therefore the Law has become our tutor to lead us to Christ, so that we may be justified by faith."
Christ is the end of the law for all who believe (Romans 10:4). We are all justified by faith apart from the law (Romans 3:28). The Bible says that the purpose of the Law or Commandments (there were the Ten Commandments plus more that were given later) were given to lead us to Christ! They were never supposed to be guidelines to follow (there is a greater law we will get to later), but rather they were supposed to lead us to salvation through faith in Christ, and Him alone!
Romans 7:9 "For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died."
If anyone could boast about following the law and commandments perfectly, it was the Apostle Paul, and he did.
Phillipians 3:6 "Touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless."
But the Apostle Paul was humbled when he met the Lord Jesus Christ! He went from calling himself a Pharisee of the Pharisees (Philippians 3:5), to the chiefest of sinners (1 Tim. 1:15)!
What caused this dramatic change in the Pharisee known as Saul (who later became Paul after his conversion)? He met Jesus Christ! He saw Jesus Christ! He was literally blinded for three days after seeing our Lord, and after that he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and began to walk with God for the remainder of his life. This is when Paul came to find out that all the righteousness that he had in himself was not true righteousness! Our righteousness is in our faith in Christ and nothing else (Gal. 3:24)! Jesus Christ is our righteousness, and nothing else! No works of the law can ever justify us. The law can only condemn us (Rom. 8:3, 3:19-20)!
Romans 3:20 "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin."
The Law or Commandments were given to convict us of sin, never to justify us! It was to point us to the only One who could save us, the righteousness of God, the Lord Jesus Christ! When we walk with God we shall fulfill all the deeds and requirements of the Law and Ten Commandments (as well as any others) naturally! For God will change our hearts through the power of His Holy Spirit that we may walk more like Him and be more like Him! God needs no law because He is perfect, and as we become more like Him, we shall walk perfectly too, apart from any law, but naturally too! God Bless.

We Shall Not Fear (2 Tim. 1:17)
The Bible says that God has not given to us a spirit of fear (2 Tim. 1:7). Fear never comes from God. There is a certain kind of fear of the Lord, but this is a different kind of fear. It's a respect. A respect for authority. This is the fear of the Lord the Bible speaks of. But there is another kind of fear we are going to discuss. This is the kind of fear that makes one afraid, and this kind of fear is not of or from God.
You will find in life that one of the tactics that the evil one, the devil uses, is fear. You see, God is faith. The devil is fear. There are contrasts here. Opposites.
Jesus came to deliver us from the Devil and from all of His bondage, including fear. This is why 2 Timothy 1:7 specifically says that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but rather of love, of power, and of a sound mind. See the contrast here between the Kingdom of Love and Light and the Kingdom of Darkness?
The Devil seeks to instill fear into God's Children. This gives the Devil power over someone. That which you fear has the ability to control you. But God has not given us the Spirit of fear, He's given us the Holy Spirit which is able to deliver us from all our sins and fears! This is the power of the Holy Spirit in a believer's life. We need fear no more! Perfect love, the perfect love of God in Jesus Christ, the perfect love which is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5) casts out all fear! (1 John 4:18)
1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love."
The Devil would love to do nothing except torment to the Children of God. Listen to what Job said after the Adversary had wrecked his life.
Job 3:25 "For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me."
This fear gave Satan access into Job's life. But when we are perfected in the love of God and filled with the Holy Spirit, the spirit of fear, which is not of God but of the Adversary, has no more place in our lives! We are delivered and set free. Glory to God for what He has done, and for what He has wrought in our lives! God Bless.

What must I do to be Saved? (Acts 16:30)
Acts 16:31 "Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household"
What must we do to be saved (Acts 16:30)? We need only to believe! (Acts 16:31)
Acts 16:29-31 "And he called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell down before Paul and Silas,
and after he brought them out, he said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household."
Salvation for a Christian is found in none other than Jesus Christ. The Bible says that if we confess Him, if we believe on Him, we will be saved (See Romans 10:9-10, John 3:16).
So what needs to be done to be saved? Nothing on our part except for simple faith.
When Jesus died on the cross, He said "It is finished" (John 19:30). What is finished? The work of Salvation. The finished work on the cross. Is there anything more for us to do? No. There is nothing else we can add to His work. Jesus' death and resurrection was more than enough to pay our penalty. We need only to believe no this Truth.
How do we know we are going to heaven? Well, the Bible says that if you believe upon Him, you are saved. We are born again of the Spirit of God. We have new life in Christ Jesus.
But I don't feel any different? Well, as you walk with God, you will start to receive the work of the Holy Spirit in your life. This work of the Holy Spirit will begin to transform your life. Is it possible to quench this Spirit? Yes, it is (Eph. 4:30). If we live contrary to live and continue to live apart from Him, we will quench the Spirit. This is like dampening the Spirit. It will be in us, but we won't feel the effects in our lives any longer.
Is there any other way to heaven? No. The Bible says that Jesus Christ, the Living Son of God is the only way to heaven (Acts 4:12). We can not live forever in front of our Holy God with sin. There must be a solution. Jesus Christ is our solution. He is our sin payment for our sin debt. When we trust in Him, we are credited with His righteousness, and God declares us righteous, just as if we had never sinned (this is known as justification)!

Entering into the Promised Land
When Joshua led the Children of Israel into the Promised Land some 3000 years ago, he did it by faith. Joshua believed what God spoke to him, and then he acted on this faith.
Joshua 1:1-5 "Now it came about after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD, that the LORD spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' servant, saying, Moses My servant is dead; now therefore arise, cross this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them, to the sons of Israel.
Every place on which the sole of your foot treads, I have given it to you, just as I spoke to Moses. From the wilderness and this Lebanon, even as far as the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land of the Hittites, and as far as the Great Sea toward the setting of the sun will be your territory. No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you."
The Lord made a promise to Joshua, and Joshua believed what God said to him. He believed that God was powerful enough to do what He said that He would do for the Children of Israel. Joshua had been at the Red Sea. He had seen the miraculous wonders of God and had seen God provide for the children of Israel for over forty years in the wilderness. Joshua knew who God was and that He was faithful and true to His Word. Joshua had no reason to doubt what God said and promised.
Just as I have been with Moses, I will be with you; I will not fail you or forsake you
Just as God was with Moses, He was with Joshua. As believers in Him, the Lord Jesus is with us even to this day. We don't have to do anything but believe His promises and what He has and will do for us. Just as He told Moses and Joshua, He also shall never leave nor forsake us.
Heb. 13:5 "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee."
The Lord Jesus Christ is our Promised Land, and when can enter into His blessed rest as we trust in Him and His finished work on the cross. All we must do is to believe. To know Him and to have faith in what He has promised He will do. He has given us the Spirit that we may not be comfortless (John 14:18). Let us not hold the same heart of unbelief that prevented the Children of Israel from entering into the Promised Land the first time (Hebrews 3:9). Let us believe God and all the promises that He has made to us. For He shall perform them.
Joshua 11:23 "So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD had spoken to Moses"
Joshua took the land by the promise God had given. God is true to His Word and He stands upon His Word. He is the true and faithful one. Man can not always be trusted, but God can. He is true always. He only speaks truth, and we can put our trust and confidence in His Word. That which He speaks He shall perform.
Hebrews 4:6 "And they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief"
Unbelief will always keep us from entering into all that God has planned for us, His blessed Promised Land and day of rest which He has given us in His Son. We only need to believe. Let God do the rest. Let Him give the rest. We shall enter the promise of His love.
John 14:6 "For I [Jesus] am the Truth, the Way, and the Life. No one can come unto the Father, except through me."

Transformed by the Renewing of our Minds (Rom. 12:2)
Romans 12:2 "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."
To renew means to make new. The Bible says that we are transformed by the renewing of our minds. We are made new. Like an old car, we are given a new battery. Not just a jump start but a new battery. Not just an oil change but a new engine.
Just as we shall receive new glorified bodies at the Resurrection (Philippians 3:21), until that time we are receiving new minds conformed to His image.
The original creation knew no sin. Paradise was perfect. The Garden of Eden perfect. But when sin reared its head, in came doubt along with it (Gen. 3:1). Why do we fear, why do we doubt, we must we lust? For we have known sin (2 Corinthians 5:21).
But now is a blessed day, for we have known Him who is greater than sin, the one who has conquered sin and the works of the devil.
Genesis 3:15 "He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel."
Why do we think the way that we do? Why do we doubt when we should believe? Because the seed of doubt has been sown (Genesis 3:1)! Sin has entered in! Yet He no longer works on what is old but He gives to us that which is new!
Revelation 21:5 "Behold, I am making all things new."
Isaiah 65:17 "For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; And the former things will not be remembered or come to mind."
A renewed mind is one that is the mind of Him, the mind of Christ.
1 Corinthians 2:16 "We have the mind of Christ."
As we walk with Him we shall be transformed! The Spirit filled mind shall think as He thinks. It shall believe as He does. It shall know as He knows.
There shall be no more doubt, no more fear, only a perfect understanding and a confidence that only He can give. Brethren, this is a great calling that we have received from our Lord. To Him be the glory in all things! Now and forever more! God Bless! Amen.

Jesus Christ Lives In Us
The Lord Jesus Christ told His disciples before He departed,
Matthew 28:20 "And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
We as believers in Him have the assurance that Jesus Christ is living in us even today.
Colossians 1:25-27 "Of this church I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God, that is, the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints, To whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory."
That Christ in us is our identity. It is our very hope of glory. We have been identified with Him and raised to new life in Him.
Romans 6:4 "That as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life."
Ephesians 2:6 "And raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus"
This Christ in us gives us the authority and power to preach His Word. This Living Word in us gives us the ability to heal the sick, to cast out the devil, to baptize with the Holy Spirit, to raise the dead, to set the captives free, etc. etc.
We now have the faith of Jesus Christ and we can do what He would have us to do. We can fulfill any calling on our lives and serve Him with the utmost.
John 14:12 "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father."
Mark 16:17 "These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues"
We now have the faith, the power and the ability to carry on the Ministry of our Lord. We are the Body, and He is the Head.
Not all are called to do miracles, but we are seeing a recent surge over the last 100 years or so. There has been great outpourings of the Holy Spirit and some powerful men of God and ministries that have moved in the last century or two.
As we get nearer and nearer to the end times and the return of Jesus Christ, I believe that there will be one great final push by our Father to usher in the return of our Lord. I believe there is a great chance for the salvation of many, for multitudes to come to Christ who had never known Him before. I believe there will be great outpourings and manifestations of God that haven't been seen since the day of Pentecost and the ministries of the Apostle Paul and the original Apostles.
It will be a great chance to see God move and perform many miraculous signs and wonders, and for many to come to know Him, and for those who have known Him to draw even closer.
But regardless of what the future holds, we know that Christ lives in us mightily, and where He is, there we shall be, ever present with our Lord (1 Thess. 4:17)! God Bless.

Trust God for all that is Good in Life
John 16:24 "Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full."
Scriptures say that we have not because we do not ask (James 4:2 "You do not have because you do not ask."). What Jesus was saying to His Disciples in the Upper Room in John chapter 16 was that God is looking to fulfill all of our desires and needs, the only thing is that we need to come to Him to receive these things.
So does this mean that God will give to us everything we ask for and desire? Well, not necessarily. You see, what we desire or want, and what we truly need can be two different things. God is looking to bless us, not harm us. He only wants to give unto us what is good in life, what we truly need. Some things God knows will not be a blessing for us, just as a father does not always give a child everything the child asks for, especially when that something will be harmful to the child. This fulfills James 4:3 which says that we also have not when we ask amiss.
Luke 11:9-13 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it will be opened.
Now suppose one of you fathers is asked by his son for a fish; he will not give him a snake instead of a fish, will he? Or if he is asked for an egg, he will not give him a scorpion, will he? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?"
Matt. 7:11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!"
You see, all we need to do is ask God and come to Him in faith, believing that He is able to fulfill all our needs and desires! Matthew 21:22 says that all things we ask believing, or trusting God, we shall receive!
Matt. 21:22 "And all things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive."
Look to Jesus, for He is looking to bless you with all things that are good in your life!
John 14:14 "If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it."
God Bless.

Faith Like a Child
When we can believe God like a little child, we shall truly be taken to new heights! Little children have great faith and very little doubt. They lean upon their parents and trust them for all their needs, both emotional and physical.
I believe this is why Jesus said that the kingdom of God ("peace, joy and righteousness in the Spirit of God" Rom. 14:17) is for little children. He said that as we become like little children, we are more able to come into this glorious peace, joy, and righteousness of the Holy Spirit (Matt. 18:3).
When we believe God like a child, we open up the window of opportunity for God through the Holy Spirit to work in our lives. Doubt blocks God from working in our lives! Faith gives God an open door to work in our lives. When we believe God, we are saying that we believe Who He is. We are saying that we also believe what He says! We believe that God is bigger than the obstacles in our lives. That He can overcome anything in our paths, because He is greater than all!
When we believe God we say that we trust in Him and that we will rely upon Him for all that we need. We won't rely upon ourselves or on our money or anything else we may have (we may even be putting our trust in man [Micah 7:5]), but that we are trusting fully in Him. This is God's desire for us! He wants to see His children trust in Him and He will prove Himself strong and mighty to all who put their trust in Him! (Psalm 37:5)
Ps. 37:5 "Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, and He will do it."
Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight."
This faith like a child is wonderful, and will open up so many opportunities for God to bless us and to be a big part of our lives! He shall open up the windows of Heaven and pouring out a blessing (Micah 3:10) to all who put their trust and lean upon Him. God bless! Amen.

Jesus Take The Wheel - Carrie Underwood
Beautiful song with a great message. Thought I would share.
Here are the lyrics if you are interested:
She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati
On a snow white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her Momma and her Daddy
With her baby in a back seat
Fifty miles to go and she was running low
On faith and gasoline
It'd been a long hard year
She had a lot on her mind and she didn't pay attention
She was going way too fast
Before she knew it she was spinning on thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was so scared, she threw her hands up in the air
(Chorus)
Jesus take the wheel
Take it from my hands
'Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
Jesus take the wheel
It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder and that car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the back seat sleeping like a rock
For the first time in a long time she bowed her head to pray
She said I'm sorry for the way
I've been living my life
I know I've got to change
So from now on tonight
(Repeat chorus)
She has such a beautiful voice! Hope you enjoy! God bless.

Where Does Fear Come From?
The Bible says that God has not given us a spirit of fear, (but of power, love, and a sound mind). Any kind of spirit of fear is from the adversary and is a direct attack against a child of God. Any place that we are not trusting God is an open door for the Adversary to enter our lives. With the Adversary (the devil) also comes fear.
How do we get rid of this fear?
We get rid of fear by trusting in God. The Psalmist says:
Psalm 34:4 "I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."
When we seek the Lord and put our trust in Him, the Adversary can not touch us, and we are delivered from all of the power of darkness, from all of our fears and doubts. When we are filled with the Spirit of God, we are also filled with faith!
Acts 11:24 "For he [Barnabas] was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord."
Acts 6:5 "And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost"
When we trust in God, we are delivered from our fears! God is faithful to do it. God is as True and as Good as His Word says that He is! Just trust Him and put your faith in Him. He will take you to new heights, and you will truly soar on the wings of eagles, you will walk and not grow weary, you will run and not faint. For the Lord shall be your strength and hope, and in Him we shall put our trust. Blessed and true is His name! God bless. Amen!

Fear Not!
When the power of the Holy Spirit comes upon us, we need not fear anymore. Why? Because the Spirit of God lifts us from fear and imparts to us faith.
Do you know what is one of the main things that Jesus said to His disciples? "Fear not!". I believe that is one of the main things that the Holy Spirit is still telling us today as followers of Christ. Fear not!
You see, a Christian, a Child of God, is not to fear. Jesus never feared and neither did the Apostles after their glorious day on Pentecost. When the Holy Spirit comes, He brings faith and imparts that faith into our lives. Faith is one of the fruits of the Spirit mentioned in Galatians (Gal. 5:22). When we are blessed with faith, we no longer fear. You see, fear is the opposite of faith. Where faith exists, fear can no longer exist. It's a spiritual principles that nature abhors a vacuum, but when we have blessed faith, trust in the Almighty God, we are delivered from all fear and filled with the Holy Spirit and the blessed faith of God.
One of the things that the Pharisees must have noticed as when they were drilling the Apostle Stephen, was the great boldness that he spoke by! He didn't fear these men at all! Acts 6:8 said that Stephen was a man full of the Holy Spirit and faith. You see, the Holy Spirit had imparted great faith into this Man of God, and he was able to stand strong against the enemy without backing down.
Jesus a lot of times would say to His Disciples "You of little faith". This is because Jesus understood the great importance of faith. This is why He told His disciples not to fear, but rather to trust in God who will deliver you from all your fears as you look unto Him! God bless and Amen. Have a good night!

Job - a Man After God's Heart (Part 1 of 2)
Read part Two of this Article
We always hear about David, the man after God's own heart, but what about Job (pronounced "Jobe" like ear "lobe", not like the thing that you go to each day)? Job, just like King David, was also a man seeking after God. Although they were both quite different, they were also both quite the same (and both did find God in the end).
There are some great morals to learn about Job's life & the struggles that he faced. But the great thing to remember is, even though his struggles were tough, he still saw God in the end, and that's all that mattered!
In the book of Job (found somewhere near the middle of your Bible), Job is a humble man who loses his family and is stricken with a terrible plague, leading him to turn to God and ask the inevitable question, "Why me?". It turns out Job wasn't alone through all of this. He still had his wife, (who asked him to curse God), and Job's three friends, Eliphaz, Bildad, and Zophar. Oh, and there is one more I forgot to mention. A young lad with great wisdom, who comes to save the day and speak for God by the name of Elihu (pronounced "Eli Who? It literally means, "He is God" in Hebrew).
So what happened to old Job? Well, Job had to learn some things. Mainly, Job had to learn who God was. (Near the beginning, Job said, "Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not. (Job 9:11)" Job had not yet seen God or knew Him in his heart!) But that was going to take some time. There were things that Job had to go through in his life. You see, Job had to learn to get past himself, he had to literally get to the "end of himself", and after that he finally saw God.
So what caused the leading up to this great climatic moment in Job's life. Well, Job was happily married with some kids, a farm (or whatever a farm would have been 3500 years ago), some cattle, a couple of servants, Job was living the good life. Job even made his daily sacrifices to Elohim, the Lord Almighty.
So what happened to Job? Well, Job lost what he had. Namely his sons, daughters, animals, as well as some other things. And just as you are feeling bad for Job, all of a sudden he is hit by a massive plague & is bedridden for months. So how did Job get through it all? By simple faith! Even, when Job's wife told him to curse God and die, Job wouldn't do it. He confessed the Lord's Soverignty:
Job 1:21 "the LORD giveth, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. "
You see, Job wasn't perfect to begin with (and neither are you and me!). Romans 3:23 says "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of G-d, being justified by faith!" This included Job too!

Job - A Man in Search of God Pt. 2
This is a Part Two of a Two Part Post. You can find Part One here: Job-A Man After God's Own Heart
Job was a very faithful man, in his religious duties (daily sacrifices, etc.), but he hadn't learned to truly know God, to practice faith and to trust God for all that he had. Job was still depending upon his own righteousness!
Job 31:4-12 NIV "Does he not see my ways and count my every step?
If I have walked in falsehood or my foot has hurried after deceit-
let God weigh me in honest scales and he will know that I am blameless-
if my steps have turned from the path, if my heart has been led by my eyes, or if my hands have been defiled,
then may others eat what I have sown, and may my crops be uprooted.
If my heart has been enticed by a woman, or if I have lurked at my neighbor's door,
then may my wife grind another man's grain, and may other men sleep with her.
For that would have been shameful, a sin to be judged.
It is a fire that burns to Destruction ; it would have uprooted my harvest"
There are a lot of pretty big "if's" in Job's statement.
Job 32:1-2 "So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes." 2Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the kindred of Ram: against Job was his wrath kindled, because he justified himself rather than God.
There's the kicker! You see, Job was even surprised that these things would happen to him, because in his own eyes he saw himself as righteous. You see, Job was comparing himself to others and those around him, rather than looking at what true righteousness is. How many times do we do that and compare ourselves to the hardned criminal or one of our neighbors and say, "Well, I'm not that bad, look at him!"? Well, that's exactly what Job was doing! And he was laying his case before God, waiting for an answer. ( And God was going to give Him one, He was just waiting for the perfect time!)
After a whole bunch of dialogue between Job and his three friends (mostly arguing), finally a young man by the name of Elihu pipes up. He had been patiently waiting for everyone else to get through there opinions, so he could lay out the real picture for everyone (and what a picture he drew!). Elihu reproves Job and humbles him. He teaches him about God's righteousness, and what is truly just. Job even says that he believes "touching the Almighty, we cannot find Him out" (Job 37:23a). He still doesn't realize that He can have a relationship with God!
Finally, God Almighty, the One that Job thought that we couldn't see, appears to Job and teaches Him a little lesson. First God proceeds to ask Job if he can really do the things that only God can do, things like creating life, forming the earth, causing the birds to fly, etc. etc. Job is humbled by the Prescence of the Almighty (in his own living room!) and the speech that God has prepared for Job, and Job comes to realize that he isn't really that great of a guy. Well, he is, but not compared to the Big Man.
So what does this teach Job? It teaches him that he can have a relationship with God, that God is the justifier, that man is unjust, and that our relationship with God and His favor goes well beyond any kind of daily ritual sacrifice that we can do (which was what Job was doing). He learned to find God in His heart, and to listen to God rather than relying on his own strength and knowledge. He learned the greatness of God and just to trust in that greatness. Truly it was a great experience for this humble (or shall I say humbled) man from Uz. And Job wasn't at a total loss. He received back from God everything He lost, plus double. God Bless.

Through the Storm
Through the storm of life there is always light on the other side. No matter how dark or dreary the situation may seem, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. The whole challenge is being able to see that light, even in the darkest trials. That light is what keeps you going, that is what motivates you to do the things that need to be done and to keep on keeping on. That is the hope that we have. Jesus gives us that hope. The Bible says that we are filled with hope by the Holy Spirit as we trust in God. He is that great light at the end of the tunnel. God is Light and in Him is no darkness.
So march on, no matter how hard times may seem, there is light at the end of the tunnel. God bless. Amen.

Look to Jesus!

Whenever life has you down or you are feeling distressed, look unto Jesus. Let Him pick you up and place you on high. Let Him lift your soul and your spirit and you will feel instantly better. Sometimes it may even take time, but He is always there to see you through. Allow Him to bless you and cleanse you. Let Him give you new beautiful garments to wear and to cleanse those old filthy ones.
Remember, you can't do it yourself. You need Him and we need each other. God is one, and He functions as one. One body, one mind, one spirit, one love for all. Have that faith in Him and He will lift you up and take you to new heights! He is the Master of all life, so let Him be the Master over yours and you will truly be blessed! Hope this helps! God bless you all. Amen.

Why Did the Children of Israel Have to Wander in the Wilderness?
So why was it that the Children of Israel didn't enter the Promised Land when they were supposed to, but rather spent the next forty years wandering in the Wilderness of Sinai? Today we are going to cover: The Bible itself says that it is given as an example for us to learn from, specifically the Children of Israel and the wanderings in the Desert and the mistakes they made, we are given these records to learn from, that we don't make the same mistakes, and that we learn without having to go through what they already went through. There is a famous saying that unless you learn history, you are doomed to repeat it. This is somewhat of a true statement and fits into what we are discussing today, so hold on, here we go! So what was the mistake that the Children of Israel made, you ask? Well, it was simple. All of what they went through, is a spiritual lesson for us today. To look at it, we must go all the way back in time, approximately 3500 years ago to be exact. But let's not get too concerned with technicalities, remember, this is a spiritual lesson here. As Moses was leading the Children of Israel, God asked them to travel over into the Promised Land, specifically to send twelve spies, one from each tribe and check out the land that God had already promised to them. Remember, this was a group of people who witnessed the plagues, the parting of the Red Sea, water coming from a rock, they had seen God performing miraculously, so they had no excuse not to believe that He was as powerful as He says He is and that we know He is. So after God told them to spy out the land and they sent the twelve spies, what happened next? Well, one of the most boneheaded moves on the Children of Israel's part (don't worry, we all make the same mistake, you could say we are born into it :-). After spying out the land for forty the twelve spies return with their report. And what a report they had! This land was awesome. Milk, honey, grapes, everything they needed would be provided. I'm sure even the weather was nice! So what happened? What went wrong? Well instead of acting on God's promise and entering into what God had already given them, they hesitated (sound familiar?). Call it what you will but they panicked, they feared the giants in the land more than they feared God. They didn't believe that God was big enough to do what He said He would do (give them the land), and this is from a group that had seen the mighty miracles of YHVH the Almighty, had followed the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night, had seen Moses and the great things God did with him, all with their very own eyes. And what, they didn't trust God. They didn't enter the Promised Land. Now we flip over to Hebrews for the conclusion to this great lesson. What does Hebrews say about the Children of Israel, and what they did wrong? They didn't believe God. They didn't enter what God had already given and promised to them and they were forced to wander the desert for forty years afterward because of it (kind of a tough penalty, I know). But there were two guys we forgot to mention. These guys were a little bit different. Joshua and Caleb. What did these guys do so differently from everyone else, what was it that set them apart from the group? Well, when they came back from spying out the land, ten of the spies did not want to venture into the Promised Land, but two did. Josh and Caleb felt that if God had told them they were to take the land, that they were to take the land. These guys, unlike the rest of the group, actually got to not only see, but live in the Promised Land after the whole Wilderness incident. Why? Because they believed God! They didn't doubt what He had already said and promised to them. They were ready to go with spears in hand and take what was already theirs. By the way, this young man Joshua later went on to lead the Children of Israel into the Promised Land after Moses' death. Shows you how much faith in the Almighty pays off, right? So let's review here. The Children of Israel were forced to wander in the wilderness because of they didn't have faith in God. They doubted Him, even after they saw the miracles with their very own eyes. What else? Well, we also know that Joshua and Caleb were rewarded for the exact opposite, for believing in God and believing what He had said (taking Him for His word.) So how does this apply to us today? Well, spiritual principles never change (they are set laws, kind of like physical laws, like the law of gravity), and the spiritual principle for us to learn here is to learn to trust God. You see, God has already given us the Promised Land. This is in His Son. Jesus did it all. We enter into the Promised Land by faith. God has given it to us all ready. So lets enter in! Let's go! Joshua is the same name in Hebrew as Jesus and just as Joshua led the Children of Israel into the Promised Land, so does the Lord Jesus lead us into the Promised Land. So how do we enter? By faith. It's as simple as that. It's already been done. Christ paid the penalty. He shed His blood for you and me. He opened the way to the Father. The veil in the Temple was torn! We have access to God through Him and we are delivered of all that ails us. We only need to believe on what God has already done for us. It is finished! Amen.

Watch the Birds

Watch the birds around you and you will see something very amazing. These are some of the greatest of God's creatures, and their lives speak Glory to their Creator. Birds are beautiful creatures, they are not bound by any limitations. They can fly, sing, laugh, dance, and praise. When I think of birds I think of the angels in the heavens. Very similar these creatures are to our heavenly friends, they are even categorized separately in the Bible. When God creates, He creates the land animals (the beasts), the sea creatures (the fish), and the fowls of the air (the birds). Birds are also great family oriented creatures. Both the mother and the father stick close to the new born babies until they can teach them to fly. Then it's off to the big city for young baby birds to explore the frontiers of the world!
But seriously, birds are beautiful creatures that I believe really reflect the glory and beauty of God in creation. Even Jesus used an example of the birds to describe how we would be blessed to conduct our daily lives.
Matt. 6:25-26 NIV "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them."
Birds wake up not worrying about the world, but they wake up singing praises to God, knowing that He will provide for them and take care of them. No wonder they can fly so easily! So don't be too hard on yourself, like these birds trust in your Heavenly Father for all that you need, and you too can be singing and flying in no time. And even as Jesus said, finishing the quote above.
Matt. 2:26 NIV "Are you not much more valuable than they?"
What He has done for them, He will do even much more and greater for you! Praise be to God. God bless!
